Dearly Beloved in Christ,

When our Lord was here on the face of the earth, He went about doing good through Preaching, Teaching, Healing & Delivering people from oppression, sicknesses and bondage. The gospels records forty one instances where the Lord demonstrated His healing power. Again the scripture says that not all the instances are recorded in the bible as there would be no end to it. John the divine says in John 21:25, “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written. “

The various healings can be categorized into five major areas:-

 

1. Healing from Demonic oppression and possession.

Sicknesses influenced by demonic causes are a major reason for many manifest sicknesses. Jesus took this problem head on and delivered people for demonic oppression and its manifested sicknesses.

 

2. Healing from sicknesses.

This includes a wide range of diseases like COVID-19 and every type of influenza, cough, fever, co-morbid conditions like blood pressure, blood glucose impairment, and every other disease in the body. Like in modern times, these diseases where controlled by medicines in Jesus's time too, which is good, but our Lord Jesus has borne every form of such sicknesses and diseases on His body on the cross. He specifically focused on healing us from these diseases once and for all so that we can have a better quality of life. 

 

At this moment, let's thank the Lord for all the medical professionals who are in the front line of defense and attending to all those who are sick. Let us pray that the Lord will protect them and keep them as the apple of His eyes. "Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings". Psalm 17: 8

3. Healing from skin and flesh ailments.

Skin and flesh ailments have plagued mankind since the time of the fall in the garden of Eden. The bible translators broadly categorize skin and flesh decease as leprosy. But it speaks for all kinds of skin and flesh ailments which enters the body and eats away the skin first and then the flesh. Some of these diseases can result in blood infection and death. Our Lord Jesus took this head on and healed all those who suffered from it.

 

4. Healing the blind, Deaf & Mute.

This characterized Jesus's ministry here on earth. The blind see, the deaf hear and the dumb speak. In all the healing instances, we find that the one affected by theses deadly conditions, never wanted to live that way. They did not accept it as a way of life. They cried out to God for their deliverance. It is a cry that had reached the throne room of God for 4000 yrs. As an answer to that cry, Jesus came into this world to wipe away the tears and open every blind eye, deaf ear and mute tongue.

5. Healing from physical immobility.

Crippling diseases have plagued humanity from old testament times. Worst of all, those who where affected by the disease where ostracized from their families and society citing their sin and curse to be the cause of such a condition. The Lord Jesus came to show us that all have sinned and have come short of the glory of God and the wages of sin is surely death, but eternal life is a gift of God through Christ Jesus our Lord!! He healed every cripple who came to Him and demonstrated God's love to us.

 

Therefore dear partners, I urge you to spend some time meditating on these scripture passages and set you heart to receive your healing from every sickness named here on earth and them that do not have a name yet. Jesus bore every form of sickness on His body, COVID was on His body. He defeated sin, sickness and death on the cross and rose up triumphantly. If He had left out any one of these diseases, then the work of salvation is not complete. But glory be to God, He rose up from the dead, thus defeating sickness and death, and we who died with Him are also risen with Him.

 

“Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved) . And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

Eph 2: 5 – 6

 

We where healed by His stripes, Jesus is Lord!!

Jesus heals a Man with an Unclean Demon

Luke 4: 31 - 37

31 And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.

32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.

33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,

34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.

35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.

36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.

37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.

 

Jesus heals many who were possessed

Mathew 8: 16 – 17

16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:

17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

 

Jesus heals a woman with a disabling spirit

Luke 13: 10 - 17

10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.

11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.

13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

17 And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

 

2. Healing from sicknesses.

 

Jesus heals Peter's mother-in-law

Matthew 8: 14 - 15

14 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.

15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

 

Jesus heals the sick

Mark 6: 5

5…..He laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

 

Jesus heals the centurion's servant

Matthew 8: 5 - 13

5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

Jesus Cleanses a Leper

Matthew 8: 1- 4

1 When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.

2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

4. Healing the Blind, Deaf & Mute.

 

Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus

Mark 10: 46 - 52

46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

Jesus Heals a Deaf Man

Mark 7: 31 - 37

31 And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.

32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.

33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;

34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.

36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;

37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

 

5. Healing from physical immobility.

 

Jesus heals a Man with a Withered Hand

Maththew 12: 9 - 13

9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

13  Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

 

Jesus heals the blind and the lame

Matthew 21: 14

14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.

Prayer

Our loving heavenly Father, we come to you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We thank you for eternally loving us and sending us your dear Son. Lord Jesus, we thank you for bearing our sin, sicknesses, sorrow, pain and tears on the cross. You died on the cross as a punishment for our sin and sickness. You rose up from the dead, thus triumphing over sin and death and by your stripes we are healed  (Isa 53:5). Today we receive our healing from your presence and we declare that we are healed , made whole and complete. We speak your blood covering over our family near and far. According to Psalm 91:10, we declare that no evil shall befall us and no sickness shall come near our dwelling place. Unto you be all glory honor and praise. In Jesus's name we pray Father, Amen!
